• World missions can be promoted in otherwise regular church services by the use of a missions-themed song or two.
• Christian missions can be promoted through music. Songs about world missions outreach can set the tone for Faith Promise Conventions and other missions events.

In 1523, Martin Luther wrote a missionary hymn based on Psalm 67. His "May God Bestow on Us His Grace," has been called "the first missionary hymn of Protestantism."
