May in global missions history: It happened today!

TL;DR:
A world missions event from the past that happened each day of May. Three examples are: On May 6, 1816, the American Bible Society was organized. On May 13, 1917, Japan first celebrated Mother's Day due to the Association for Mothers in Japan that American Methodist missionary Mira E. Draper had formed. On May 31, 1803, Presbyterians appointed Gideon Blackburn as a missionary to the Cherokee Nation. He was their first missionary to Native Americans.
