This tower or pyramid illustrates how problem solving in the situations of life often unfolds as we move from the top down to successive levels.

At level one we ask: "What happened?"
At level two we ask: "How do my personal values impact my understanding?"
At level three we ask: "What principles strongly guide my life? What theological framework am I applying?"
At level four we four ask: "How does my personality factor into the way I interpret certain events? What external factors influence me?"
