1. Make a polyhedron with squares.  What is its common name?  Open it up to lay flat by disconnecting some edges.  Use dot paper to draw a diagram of this net. 
  2. Some polyhedra are called regular polyhedra.  The polyhedron you made in #4 is an example of one.  Use it to write a definition of a regular polyhedron.
  3. Make the polyhedra whose nets are shown below.  Which are regular polyhedra by your definition? 

  1. Based on the class discussion  about the above polyhedra, write a new definition of a regular polyhedron.
  2. Is a regular polyhedron possible using hexagons?  Try to create one and explain why it is impossible.
  3. If pentagons are used to make a regular polyhedron, how many must meet at each vertex?  Explain.  Try to make a regular polyhedron using pentagons.  Draw a net for your result.
