It is a concentrated region on our globe, but it is most definitely been of worldwide significance. It can almost be hidden or overlooked because of it's location between three major continents, but more than once has it risen to the center of attention in our world. It's been known for its brutal terrorists and ruthless dictators, but also for its rich culture, devout religions, and its prosperity. This intriguing land we now know as the Middle East, and the involvement of the United States with this area throughout history has been inevitable. 

  U.S. involvement with the Middle East down through the ages can be viewed through the windows of our economic, political, religious, and militarial interactions. On this page, we will be looking back at our nation's relation to the Middle East in each of these aspects to show how we have become entertwined with this foreign land within the last century.
