Personal Gear (must be carried at all times)
food and water
appropriate clothing for weather conditions
Early April can be chilly and wet. Having some sort of rain gear and the ability to layer is a good idea. Cotton clothing is not a good idea on cold/wet days. Always wear a hat of some sort. Off trail hiking may be necessary—briars, brambles and other varieties of wetland and forest flora will be encountered in Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge— you may appreciate light gloves (ie bike gloves), arm and leg covering. Running shoes are adequate for a race of this length. All that said, racers make their own decisions about clothing.
