"Caught!"

The sirens are blaring

they're getting closer.

Must get out of here

they're getting louder.

Heat rising,

skin tingling,

heart beating,

faster, faster.

How did they find me

how did they know

Leave this place

run, so the path gets cold.

Time standing still

mind going blank

phasing in and out

don't stop!

It's happening

life's falling apart

Pieces lying on the floor

pick them up?

Fingers numb

arms hang limp

paralyzed

No longer in control!

Sirens are blaring

they won't stop

The presence of another

Now face to face with a cop.

Stomach churning

Knees crumbling

tears flowing ...

it's over!
