My spirit is thirsty and dry

I am weak with hunger
Jehovah, my God, hear my cry
Raise me up, make me stronger

Barren and void, the rocks whisper, "death"

Because in the desert there is no life
I need an oasis, a place of rest
The heat is smothering-no chance to revive

I want to move on, but I'm tangled in the past

Visions are as old reruns in my mind
I need real answers and a firm rock to grasp
Solutions and strength no man alone can find

I'm losing my grip

My faith is weakening
All life within me is stripped
Vitality is gone and reality slaps me cold
No hope, no future
Nothing to grab or hold

But wait-I hear a rustling, a wind stirring inside my soul

A new faith is rising up, my spirit is gaining strength
It's a flame slightly flickering waiting to burn out of control

My God has listened. He's heard my cry

So "desert" get thee behind me
I can move mountains and soar on high
My cup is filled beyond all imaginable capacity

God has found me

Lifted me
Saved me
Filled me

He is the Cleft in the Rock, the River bursting with life

In Him I put my trust in
0 I will make it-I will survive

I have overcome and will move forward with a new fire

He has quenched my thirst and I now live with a burning desire

To praise Him, to love Him, to glorify His name

To win this world for His glory
Nothing in this world can put out my flame

Lord, You made a way where there seemed to be no way

So I give praise and honor to You forever and always

With You I can do anything

But without you I am just nothing
